Windscreen wipers are the devices use to clean the glass of screens, they are also known as windshield wipers. They are being used to remove ice, rain, snow and debris from the glass. Every motor vehicle will have them on the front of their windshields such as lorry, truck, car, bus, trains, watercraft and aircrafts. These wipers are a legal requirement for all motor vehicles without them they will not be accepted by law authorities.
These wipers are consisting of metals arm, which will be pivoted from one end and its other end will have a long rubber blade attached to it. The arm will be powered by motor; usually this motor will be an electric motor. Pneumatic power is another thing that can be used in some vehicles to give power to these wipers. Blades of these wipers push the water and other elements downward the glass by swinging back and forth. The speed of the wipers can be adjusted with several continuous speeds and usually one or more intermittent settings. Automobiles will have a radial type two arm, these arms will be synchronized. On the other hand many commercial vehicles use one and more pantograph arms. Many vehicles also have windshield washer systems. This system is to spray water or an antifreeze window washer fluid at the screen through nozzles. This washer system is to remove the dirt particles and the dust from the screen. Some vehicles also have heater system which will be intended towards the window and wire will be fixed on the glass, in case of cold weather this system helps very much to keep the snow and the ice building up on the screen. There are also miniature wipers for headlights but I is a very unusual case, and happen rarely.
On some vehicles, a windshield washer system is also used. This system sprays water or an antifreeze window washer fluid at the windshield using several nozzles. The windshield washer system helps to remove dirt or dust from the windshield when it is used in concert with the wiper blades. When antifreeze windshield washer fluid is used, it can help the wipers to remove snow or ice. For winter conditions, some vehicles have additional heaters aimed at the windows or embedded heating wire in the glass. These defroster systems help to keep snow and ice from building up on the windshield. In rare cases, miniature wipers are installed on headlights.
Many wipers work together with screens washers, it will have a pump to provide a mixture of water, detergent and alcohol from a tank to the screen. Many designs use fluidic oscillator to disperse the fluid more thoroughly. Fluid is not a good idea if a person is in a cold place because the fluid can get freeze in cold weathers.
Some cars also have hidden wipers. In these cars the windscreen extent below the rear edge of the hood, and the wipers park themselves below the wiping range at the bottom of the screen.
Some wipers have ability to judge the rain and its force and they adjust their speed according to that. If the rain will be very heavy than the wiper will speed them self in fast movements and if the speed is slow then they will work slowly.
