Truck is a motor vehicle design to transfer cargo from one place to another. It is known as truck in USA, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, and in many other countries such as United Kingdom, Ireland, and South Africa it is being known as lorry. They are different in size, shape, power and all other configurations, and mechanically same like other automobiles. They can be very much large and powerful and designed to carry heavy loads and specialized equipped such as concrete mixtures, suction excavator and concrete mixers.
Modern trucks which are big and are designed to carry heavy loads are being powered by diesel engines but the medium size trucks are being powered by gasoline engine and they can be found in US. The vehicle in which have weight of more than 3500 kilograms are known as light commercial vehicles and those which are more heavier than these are known as large merchandise vehicles.
fardier Joseph Cugnot built steam-powered vehicles in 1769. Trucks are cars have made in same manner when it come to power. Until mid 1800s steam trucks were not very common. At that time roads were designed and made for horses and carriages and they were not strong enough to carry the load of heavy trucks, these roads limited the tugs of these vehicles. They were only being drive from factory to railway station, but were not being used to travel out of city and town. On 1881 the first trailer was introduced in the world by de Dion-Bouton. Steam trucks were used in US and France until the time of World War I and the start of World War II. In England they were known as steam wagon.
The internal combustion engine was used in trucks in 1895, it was the first of the history of the world designed by Karl Benz’s. after some time these trucks was turned into first bus ever and these buses were designed by Netphener, it was the first motorbus of the history.
At that time the capacity of trucks of carrying weight was of 1500 to 2000 kilograms after that US made trucks which were able to carry more weight and their capacity reached up to 25000 kilograms in 1914.
Diesel was invented in 1890 but diesel engine was not introduced at that time in common trucks, it started to be used in 1930s. People took their time to accept diesel engines, they were not very open minded when it comes to use these engines. Until 1970s oil was being used in trucks. The reason for that was that there were some flaws in these engines such as they were making smoke and too much noise and vibration and the biggest issue was that they were very much costly than gasoline engine.
