American colonial architecture was associated with colonial period of time and this architecture had many different styles of homes and buildings, including Spanish colonial, late-medieval, Dutch colonial, French colonial and Georgina. These styles had been linked with different kind of buildings such as churches, houses and other government establishments and this architect remain popular among house association from 1600 to 19th century, this architecture can be seen till now in the historical places and still has power to mesmerize people with its beauty and exquisiteness.

There are many colonial styles building in united state that are still in their same shape and can be recognized very easily because of their distinction. If one look closely and have an interest in the ancient architecture, he will find out that the building which were made in 13 colonies were very much influenced with the techniques and styles of United Kingdom and from Europe and this was brought in America through people who got settled there. In 17th century colonial houses which were build in England was made by only wood, these styles can be found in the southeastern counties of England. Dutch colonial structure was same as typical construction style copies from Holland and Flanders which used stone and brick more than houses in new England has used. These types of establishments were made in Hudson River valley, northern New Jersey, and long island. Southern colonial houses have had parlors and halls with central-passage house which had large chimneys. These styles oh houses can be found in Carolinas and Maryland’s. Another very popular colonial house style was Swedish colonial which was introduced in America by people who came from Sweden. These houses were log cabins and were built along the lower Delaware River.

After 1681, a style known as Pennsylvania colonial came in the view and short after they were mixed with Georgian architecture, and in the parts of southeastern Pennsylvania this style can be easily seen. This style was brought in by those who immigrated from German in 18th century.

The power of colonial traditional architecture controlled many other areas and regions of America. Louisiana’s architecture was known as French colonial style and the Spanish people brought in Renaissance and baroque styles of Spain and Mexico and this can be seen in different big areas such as Arizona, New Mexico, California and Texas.

Many buildings has detailed structural design with steep roofs, small casement leaded glass windows and in much costly structure had rich ornamentation and central chimneys.
